1oz. Black Magnetic Fingerprint Powder Magnetic latent print powders are similar in appearance to standard powders, but they contain iron so that they will adhere to a magnet. When a magnetic powder applicator is dipped into the jar of magnetic powder, the powder gathers around the magnetic end of the applicator and it becomes a "brush." When dusting is complete, hold the applicator over the jar, and a short pull on the top end will lift the magnet, allowing the powder to drop back into the jar. For this reason, very little powder is wasted. The new wide-mouth jar of magnetic powder will accept the large ball of powder held on the tip of the magnetic applicator.

Crystal Violet, 25 Grams Use Crystal Violet to develop latent fingerprints on the adhesive side of almost any kind of tape, e.g., Scotch, electrical, Kraft, etc. Mix the powder in water, soak the tape in the solution and rinse with running tap water. The caution about working with Crystal Violet powder or solution is that it is a very messy dye and will stain skin, clothes, floors and counter tops. It may be very difficult, if not impossible, to remove the stains from some clothing, furniture and floor covering. Crystal Violet is also often used as a "theft detection powder." The item is first VERY lightly dusted with the powder and when the item comes into contact with moisture (for example, the thief's hands), it turns dark purple and stains anything that comes into contact with it. However, this use is NOT suggested due to the messy nature of the product and the fact that the stains DO NOT come out of most surfaces. Eva-Safe Syringe Tubes, Pack of 12 An improved syringe collection tube is now available which meets OSHA requirements. It is made of a clear, heavy 30 mil. plastic tube with international biohazard markings printed in bright orange on the side. The end caps are also bright orange. The inside measurements of the tube are 7 3/4" long by 1" in diameter. One end cap is not removable. This end contains an inert sealing material which will enclose the "business" end of the needle. This sealing material is designed to prevent leakage of the contents of the syringe. The proper method of placing a syringe and needle inside a storage tube is to place the opened tube on a tabletop or counter top. WITHOUT picking up the tube, hold the syringe in ONE HAND and slide it, needle-end first into the tube. Keeping the other hand out of the way will prevent accidental punctures from the needle.
